Day 30 Medical Expenses

Yesterday, Jan 30: Prescriptions-Household Total for 2013: Plan Paid: $44,201.93 You Paid: $790.68. Just a friendly reminder that insurance companies are not all that bad. As of yesterday, our insurance paid out over 44K for meds. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. Next week, when IGG ships, they will have paid out over 50K......

Our out of pocket medical total for 2013  (not including several visits we've not been billed for): $2,923.55

The unAffordable Care Act has only harmed our family by increasing all of our medical related costs. Thank you Barack Hussein Obama. Thank you very much. An interesting AP article: Some Families to be Priced out Of Health Overhaul.

Barack Obama Hurts Sick Kids

I have a son with a neurogenic bladder.  He caths every 4 hours and takes medication for his condition. He doesn't respond to generic medications. We've done urodynamic studies while on generic and his pressures are still high enough to cause kidney damage.  He also reports pain while on the generic form.

For the 5 years prior to Obamacare, the co-pay for this name brand drug was $150.  In 2011, the year after Obamacare passed, the co-pay went up to $283. Last year it went to $343. Just found out today that when we refill it in a few weeks, it will be $495.  We're not even finished with January and our flex spending is gone (thanks to Obamacare for dropping the limit) and now we find out how much higher some co-pays will be. We can't even put the first refill on our flex spending.

Just as with our premiums, co-pays, out of pocket and deductibles-- for five years they went up slightly. Then Obamacare hit and they've exponentially increased. Combine this with the FICA tax increase, decrease in flex spending and decreased medical deductions, and we are screwed. We've already taken out two loans...we don;t have car payments...we buy and drive only used cars.

I canceled our newspaper subscription today-- it won't go far toward paying the $1,980 a year to buy this medication.  But it is a start. I suppose we could cancel our phones, electric and walk every where we go, too.

I called the drug company...We are so screwed. We have insurance so we don't qualify for assistance. BUT they make exceptions based on family size and income. AND We are screwed again-- hubby makes too much. Ain't it grand to be part of the *rich* middle class? Rich enough that the government steals more from you, poor enough that you can't afford your own children's medical bills, yet too effing rich to qualify for any assistance programs.

I called my senators and my representative (Congress) and will call my state legislators tomorrow. I don't know what else to do to make our voices heard. My boys do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicaid waiver (everyone always asks that after I explain how screwed we are). The Reality is that if Obama hadn;t jacked everything up with Obamacare, then we'd be much better off. I'm sure appreciating the $150 co-pay at a total of $600 a year more than I am the $495 co-pay and $1,980/yr.

Dear Obama: you suck and your laws hurt families with sick kids.

Stokes and Surry County Sheriffs Will Uphold Constitution

Went to a TEA Party meeting last night to listen to two sheriffs speak. It was great. Both said they would uphold the Constitution and would not ever confiscate guns from law abiding citizens. There were almost 200 TEA party members in attendance. We know there are at least two county sheriffs in North Carolina who will uphold the Constitution!

Sheriff Graham Atkinson, Surry County, NC

Sheriff Mike Marshall, Stokes County, NC

March for Life 2013

It was amazing! The 40th anniversary of Roe v Wade and the largest turnout ever. Many people, including myself, noted that we'd never been so crowded at the march before. Shoulder to shoulder and constant bumping. It was hard to find a place to take photos. In the past, you could find a space to stop and snap a few pictures. Some news sources are reporting that 650,000 people came to the march!

We waited 40 minutes at the mall just to start the march.  I really was that crowded!

My friends and me holding our signs

This man was so cute- he asked me to take a picture of him with my sign. I also got one with my camera.

The mall filling up before the march

read this sign carefully!

She was so happy when I asked if I could take her picture!

Superheroes for life

We found one of my oldest son's friends at the march

Liberals on a Train

Like Snakes on a train, only worse.

I walked into the train station last week and there was a drunk liberal with his friend.  The heat was up so high in the station that I removed my coat.  Since I was headed to the March for Life later that morning, I had on a pro-life t-shirt. Shocking, I know.  Of course, you know liberals, if they disagree with you, they HAVE to say SOMETHING.

The man told me he was pro-choice. Okay. Then started asking me questions about Obama which led to unintelligible questions about Obamacare.  I finally gave up and moved across the small room only to sit down next to another liberal. A much quieter liberal. The drunk guy needed assistance from his friend to get on the train..... his friend exited the train and wasn't traveling with his friend.

They sat us next to each other on the train. As we sat there, she told me she was pro-choice and an atheist. A few minutes later, our train hit a car. (read the article about the accident here) When the Amtrak lady told us, I said to this atheist lady, "We need to pray for the person who was just hit."  She agreed. Funny how atheists will pray. As we sat, she told me a bit about herself and that she'd worked for the Obama administration.  She, like the Rowan County Democrat, said that Obamacare would "even out" and prices would "come back down". What are these people drinking? I find it absolutely amazing that they really believe the load of crap the Democratic Party spews. She couldn't argue with my family's experience, so she just used their talking points, "After the costs go up, they'll come back down."   WOW.  At least she was a nice liberal and not like the drunk dude.   We did have a few things we agreed upon.

Liberals are amazing people. She told me numerous times that she was working on her PhD, almost as if she needed to explain to me that she really was educated.  Her boyfriend supposedly photographed an interview of the Obamas and all sorts of interesting things. I'm not saying she was making it up, I just have to laugh because liberals think people care about that stuff.  Obama makes me want to puke and I feel sorry for the people who have to work for him.  Most liberals (including the gal on the train) have some sort of groupie  relationship with this man and his wife. He's NOT a rock star, people!  He's a communist puke!

Day 22: Medical Expenses

Day 22 and we've spent $2,445.19 on medical expenses. ( $588.51 of it was paid on what we still owe from 2012, so we have a little still left in our Flex Spending account, but not much) We still have not been billed for the 4 doctor visits the boys had in January (so far).

And yes, Obama still sucks. Obamacare hurts families with sick kids like mine.  The lowered flex spending, decreased medical deductions, increased premiums, co-pays and out of pocket expenses along with the increase of FICA (I posted about hubby's paychecks being 200 less every two weeks because of the increased premiums and FICA)

Obamacare Screws Families with Sick Kids (pun intended)

I am beyond angry right now. Refilled my youngest's Neurontin today- generic. It has been a blessing for our family. Prior to Neurontin, he struggled with daily pain.  Last year, our insurance paid a portion of both boys' prescriptions. I made sure I was correct by looking  up the claims from last year's Neurontin .

Thank you, left, Obama and all the Hoochie Mamas for screwing families like mine with sick kids (pun intended)! Last year, our insurance paid a portion of the boys' Neurontin, this year, we pay the entire cost - all so you feminazis can get your free Abortion drugs and birth control on our dime and our consciences! Neurontin treats an actual disease/condition! You morons! Fools! AUGH! Obamcare YET AGAIN CAUSES FAMILIES WITH SICK KIDS TO PAY EVEN MORE! As if increased premiums, co-pays, deductibles and OOPs the last two years wasn't enough, now we have to pay more for medications so you can bleep your brains out without consequence AND murder innocent babies in the womb. Jerks.

I can't wait to see what the medication that protects my youngest's kidneys costs this year. For 5 years prior to Obamacare, the co-pay was $150. In 2011, the co-pay skyrocketed to $283. Last year (2012), the co-pay was $343. I wonder what it will be this year. Guess I should be excited because if I should ever decide I wasn't a practicing Catholic, I could get my $9 birth control for free-- or kill a baby at no cost to me.  Heck, I could even get sterilized for free. Puke.

Feel free to share this with the world. It is my goal in 2013 to show everyone how Obamacare screws families with sick kids!

Day 17 Medical Expense Update

Day 17 medical update: We've paid out $1,223.84 since Jan 1 of this year. Medications, medical supplies and some payments on the 16K out of pocket we still owe 3K on from last year. And the month isn't over. I fully expect we will run out of flex by Feb 1.  ($635.33 from 2013 and 588.51 toward 2012's balance)

Anything we pay for 2012 this year goes on this year's taxes.  Obamacare decreases the amount of medical that we can deduct in 2013 AND lowered our flex accounts to $2,500.

Obamacare hurts families with sick kids! Repeal it!

Outstanding Young Lady Explains What a Gun Ban Means for Blacks

She rocked it!

Obama's 23 Executive Orders Explained

If you thought our POTUS was going to make sense today, you were smoking pot and crack while at the same time dropping acid. Obama's executive orders are just a bunch of bunk. I'm using a list compiled by Robert Laurie on Cain TV here. The gist of Obama's press conference today: My children are more important than your children. My children deserve to be protected by armed guards 24/7 and yours don't.

#1 Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system. Really, Obama? This is the first one? It's already being done..... well, except in the case of Mexican Drug Lords, Syrian and Libyan rebels and all.......

#2 Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system. Okay, I can go with this one.

#3 Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system. Read: Bribe the states with more money we have to borrow from China.

#4 Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks. Read: We'll okay Mexican Drug Lords, Syrian and Libyan rebels, but we'll be sure the gun prohibition list includes the following: TEA Party Members, Republicans, Conservative ex-military individuals, and anyone we deem to be a danger to the state.

#5 Propose rule making to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.  Aren't they already doing this? Need to check this out.

#6 Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers. Because calling the government officials is too difficult to do without the aid of government officials.

#7 Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign. Wonder if he'll ask Dianne Feinstein to head this one up? We need more government campaigns because they've all worked out so well.

#8 Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission). How many millions will be wasted to find out that the gun locks that come with each weapon sold actually <ahem> work!? Moron.

#9 Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations. Will they finally get to the bottom of Fast and Furious because of this executive order!?

#10 Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement. The question is, can they find them? They still have yet to recover the Fast and Furious guns they gave to Mexican Drug Lords-- FnF guns are being found at crimes scenes across Mexico.

#11 Nominate an ATF director. Will he nominate Eric Holder?

#12  Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations. Good idea, but why aren't law enforcement and first responders trained already? Did they assume they would never encounter a person with a gun?

#13 Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime. You mean, actually enforce current gun laws and put criminals in jail? Will we also stop recidivism and keep them in jail?
This idea blows my mind-- does it blow your mind? Imagine actually enforcing laws-- next they'll be talking about enforcing immigration laws! ** They mean enforcement with the exception of the ruling class. Wouldn't want to find out what happened with Fast and Furious.

#14 Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence. Yo, Mr. President. It's already been done- get your people to find the report and give you the wrong numbers. #waste of money, moron.

#15 Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies. Right, Mr. President, get the man who hid behind your Executive Privilege and has never given us answers about Fast and Furious guns to lead this up. The American people trust him.

#16 Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes. Clarify that Americans have a right to privacy and Obamacare can shove the Bill of Rights up its and Obama's arse.

#17 Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities. Mr. President, so we really need YOU, the KING, to release a letter stating the obvious!? Thanks, Captain obvious. #moronic

#18 Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers. Read: borrow more money from China to pay for this instead of asking private citizens (teachers, aides, etc)  with concealed carry permits to help out.

#19 Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education. Four words, Mr. President: Concealed Carry on campuses.

#20 Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover. Were any of the shooters on Medicaid!? Is Obama trying to say people at the whim of government health care have more potential for violence?

#21 Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges. Mr. President, you extended the deadline for the exchanges because half the states of this great nation have refused to set them up. What good will this do if you don't get the exchanges set up?

#22 Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations. Does anyone in Obama's administration even know what parity is? You know the communists are all about being equal and all.....

#23 Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health. What could possibly go wrong with these idiots in charge? Will they force people to pay for mental health exams without their consent?

Must Watch Gun Control Video - No Guns for Negros

The Documentary: “No Guns for Negroes” – exposes the racist history of American gun control laws. Every person who supports gun control laws must be shown this film or gun ownership will cease to exist in America.

The Virginia Act for Establishing Religious Freedom-1786

The Virginia Act For Establishing Religious Freedom

Thomas Jefferson, 1786

Well aware that Almighty God hath created the mind free; that all attempts to influence it by temporal punishments or burdens, or by civil incapacitations, tend only to beget habits of hypocrisy and meanness, and are a departure from the plan of the Holy Author of our religion, who being Lord both of body and mind, yet chose not to propagate it by coercions on either, as was in his Almighty power to do; that the impious presumption of legislators and rulers, civil as well as ecclesiastical, who, being themselves but fallible and uninspired men, have assumed dominion over the faith of others, setting up their own opinions and modes of thinking as the only true and infallible, and as such endeavoring to impose them on others, hath established and maintained false religions over the greatest part of the world, and through all time; that to compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves, is sinful and tyrannical; that even the forcing him to support this or that teacher of his own religious persuasion, is depriving him of the comfortable liberty of giving his contributions to the particular pastor whose morals he would make his pattern, and whose powers he feels most persuasive to righteousness, and is withdrawing from the ministry those temporal rewards, which proceeding from an approbation of their personal conduct, are an additional incitement to earnest and unremitting labors for the instruction of mankind; that our civil rights have no dependence on our religious opinions, more than our opinions in physics or geometry; that, therefore, the proscribing any citizen as unworthy the public confidence by laying upon him an incapacity of being called to the offices of trust and emolument, unless he profess or renounce this or that religious opinion, is depriving him injuriously of those privileges and advantages to which in common with his fellow citizens he has a natural right; that it tends also to corrupt the principles of that very religion it is meant to encourage, by bribing, with a monopoly of worldly honors and emoluments, those who will externally profess and conform to it; that though indeed these are criminal who do not withstand such temptation, yet neither are those innocent who lay the bait in their way; that to suffer the civil magistrate to intrude his powers into the field of opinion and to restrain the profession or propagation of principles, on the supposition of their ill tendency, is a dangerous fallacy, which at once destroys all religious liberty, because he being of course judge of that tendency, will make his opinions the rule of judgment, and approve or condemn the sentiments of others only as they shall square with or differ from his own; that it is time enough for the rightful purposes of civil government, for its officers to interfere when principles break out into overt acts against peace and good order; and finally, that truth is great and will prevail if left to herself, that she is the proper and sufficient antagonist to error, and has nothing to fear from the conflict, unless by human interposition disarmed of her natural weapons, free argument and debate, errors ceasing to be dangerous when it is permitted freely to contradict them. Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly, That no man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry whatsoever, nor shall be enforced, restrained, molested, or burdened in his body or goods, nor shall otherwise suffer on account of his religious opinions or belief; but that all men shall be free to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinions in matters of religion, and that the same shall in nowise diminish, enlarge, or affect their civil capacities.
And though we well know this Assembly, elected by the people for the ordinary purposes of legislation only, have no powers equal to our own and that therefore to declare this act irrevocable would be of no effect in law, yet we are free to declare, and do declare, that the rights hereby asserted are of the natural rights of mankind, and that if any act shall be hereafter passed to repeal the present or to narrow its operation, such act will be an infringement of natural right.

Constitutionality of Executive Orders

Quite a few people are throwing around the idea of impeaching Obama for unconstitutional executive orders.  Let's hope it happens if he steps out of the bounds of his power. Today, Obama is rolling out 19 executive orders on gun control.  Since they will likely legislate, they will be unconstitutional.

Executive orders are supposed to deal with the Executive Branch of government.  I was looking through my Constitutional Law book written by Michael Farriss, ESQ and found some information on executive orders and a few SCOTUS rulings on them.

In talking about two modern [abuses] of presidential power- war powers and executive orders "the other area of power asserted by the modern presidency is power to make law through executive orders and regulations. Executive orders are issued by the president with the claim that they have the force and effect of law. Regulations are issued by cabinet departments which are answerable to the president. For example, the EPA has issued volumes of regulations that private property owners must obey. When executive orders or regulations are issued without any authorization from Congress, they are on shaky constitutional ground. But Congress could not pass a law that simply says,"The president may issue whatever executive orders he wishes on any subject ' the constitution requires that ALL legislative authority be vested in Congress. The president or his cabinet cannot make laws even WITH the consent of Congress - according to clear language of the Constitution. The modern claim is that administrative regulations and orders are not "laws" within the meaning of the constitution, although they are binding rules that must be obeyed by private parties"

If the executive branch (President) makes a law via executive order that people must obey, even if they call it a " rule", then it/ he is legislating in violation of Article 1 section 1 of the Constitution. The President doesn't have the power to amend laws via executive order, either. Executive orders cannot be unconstitutional - just as any treaties or laws Congress passes cannot be unconstitutional.

The situation gets a bit sticky- according to the Constitutional Law book I have. If congress passes a law giving the executive branch the power to make rules, then the administrative agencies, as part of the executive branch, can issue rules which make no policy decisions- such as designing forms, specifying filing deadlines, etc. but when the administrative agency makes a rule enacting a new policy, that is quite different. Such regulations are in reality a new law. All laws are supposed to be enacted by Congress.

Two SCOTUS cases dealing with Executive Orders:

In Youngstown Sheet &Tube v Sawyer (1952) -President Truman issued an executive order seizing the steel mills after the steel industry union gave notice of a nationwide strike. Without an statutory power granted by Congress, the only reason presented was the avoidance of national catastrophe and imperiling of the national defense. It was ruled that President Truman did not have the power to issue that executive order.

In US v Curtiss-Wright Export Corp (1936) FDR both banned the sale of weapons to Bolivia and Paraguay and lifted the ban on the basis of power granted to him by Congress. This authority was challenged as an unconstitutionally granted legislative power. The defendant, Curtiss wright, a weapons manufacturer was convicted of selling arms to warring nations in violation of an executive order that was made pursuant to a joint resolution of Congress. The non- delegation doctrine does not bar congress from delegating great authority and discretion to POTUS in the conduct of foreign affairs. ( note Congress was involved and FDR did not go around Congress to subvert the Constitution as Obama will today with his 19 executive orders on gun control)

George Washington Meme on 2nd Amendment

I couldn't agree more!

1946 Battle of Athens a 2nd Amendment History Lesson

Think we don't need guns to protect us from law enforcement? One need not look further than the 1946 Battle of Athens. A sheriff, his deputies and a senator tried to rig the election. Shot a citizen and removed the ballot boxes from the polling place.  Armed citizens saved the day and restored integrity to the election.

Text A Prayer Request

NEW YORK (CNS) -- Often, prayer intentions are offered with hands folded, but a new service allows hands and fingers to move freely -- provided a cellphone is handy.

The New York-based Holy Name Province of the Franciscans has started a service it calls "Text a Prayer Intention to a Franciscan Friar."

The service debuted in January with the new year.

Here's how it works: Text the word "prayer" to 306-44 and hit "send." Senders will then receive a welcome message inviting them to then send in their prayer intentions. Senders will receive a text in reply stating that their prayer has been received and will be prayed for.

The intentions are received on a website, and will be included collectively in the friars' prayers twice a day and at Mass.

"With technology changing the way we communicate, we needed to offer people an updated way to ask for prayers for special intentions and needs either for themselves or others," said a Jan. 8 statement by Franciscan Fr. David Convertino, executive director of development for the Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province.

"We have been working on this for some time and it's a great way to bring in the New Year," Father Convertino added. "If the pope can tweet, friars can text!"

Pope Benedict XVI launched his very own Twitter account in mid-December.

The Holy Name Province is the largest U.S. province of the worldwide Order of Friars Minor, with 300 members serving throughout the East Coast in college, parish, social service and urban ministry, with some on overseas assignments as well.

However, with cellphone technology and access virtually universal, the province's range could be even larger.

"This is one more way of reaching people who ask us to pray for them," Fr. Convertino said. "We hope it can reach people all around the globe."

Libs Who Outed Gun Owners Refuse "Gun-Free House Signs"

This may be one of the funniest videos ever. The liberal media members who published the names of gun owners don't want "this house is proudly gun free" signs in their yards. Many are protected by armed security. How is that for hypocrisy? Stupid, stupid liberals! One lib says he wants them to limit magazines to one round magazines.  What a dolt. It's your anti-life, liberal policies that have caused this. How about teaching respect for life?   Watch the video and laugh.

April 15 Freedom Rally

I'm working on a Freedom Rally at the Federal Building in Winston-Salem, NC on April 15, 2013.  It's going to be everything rolled into one. Religious freedom, economic freedom, and freedom from government intrusion in our lives.  Come out and stand of for Constitutional values. Here's what's in the works. If you have ideas or know a group or speaker willing to participate, please contact me.

We are hosting a freedom rally on April 15th, 2013.  We want to have various organizations with tables there. We want to start at 11:30 by inviting people to go to the various tables to find out how they can become involved in the conservative movement.  At Noon, we will have a few speakers, then around 1pm, will invite people once again to visit the organization tables -- to find organizations that they may have a passion for helping. People are always wanting to become involved, so we want to help them!

We don't have the agenda complete, but, I'm thinking during the time people are going from table to table, someone from different organizations could get up to the mic and say a few words....

It's going to be another great rally!

America is NOT a Democracy

I wish more Americans would learn their history. America is NOT a democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.  The Freedom Blog has a great Q & A:

"We the People

Where does sovereign power come from and to whom is it bestowed? In other words, from where does the government derive its power?
The short answer is that the government receives its power from the people. A common misperception is that America is a democracy. However, the truth is that the Founding Fathers established our country as a Constitutional Republic. In fact, the word “democracy” is not found in any of our founding documents or state constitutions."

Calvin Coolidge 150th Anniversay of Declaration Speech

Calvin Coolidge, Speech on 150th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence
"About the Declaration [of Independence] there is a finality that is exceedingly restful. It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers."

Rally in Raleigh

Four Tea Party friends and I attended the "Honor the Oath" rally on the opening day if the NC General Assembly.

We listened to some amazing speakers. Dr. Greg Brannon from Founder's Truth spoke about the Supremacy Clause and states' rights. There were ten other speakers who spoke on various topics, mostly the Constitution.

The hippie in all this was the guy with a guitar who sang a song in burlap shoes. I love the Tea Party movement.

During the rally, a state worker came out to tell the coordinators that they had to move the stage. 50 feet. True story.

I'm guessing there were 100-150 people outside on Wednesday. The picture of the day was the moving of the stage to appease the government employee.

‘Fast and Furious’ Gun Found At Site Where Mexican Beauty Queen Killed « CBS DC

December 18, 2013 - Fast and Furious gun found at the scene. Where is the outcry from the hypocritical left? Why aren't they screaming about our government giving guns to Mexican criminals. Oh, that's right, they're hypocrites.

Bill Introduced to Repeal 1954 Johnson Amendment

Rep Walter Jones (R-NC3) has introduced H.R. 127 which would repeal the 1954 Johnson Act and restore free speech and 1st Amendment rights to churches.  You can track the bill (and read a bit about it) here.

Contact your Representative and ask him to support H.R. 127!

If you'd like a little history on the anti-American, freedom-crushing, unconstitutional 1954 Johnson Amendment, you can find some great information here. For almost 200 years, pastors spoke about social and moral issues as they pertained to candidates. In 1954, that ended with the Johnson Amendment. Almost 200 years of freedom flushed down the toilet in Washington, DC!

Is there any nation on the planet that allows citizens complete freedom of speech? Is there any nation left on the planet that allows citizens to exercise 100% freely their God-give right to free speech?

Let's restore America! Let's once again have a nation where our God-given, constitutionally protected rights are just that - protected and exercised!

H.R. Con Res 3

Rep Walter Jones (R-NC3) has introduced a bill making it an impeachable offense for a president to go to war without an official declaration from Congress.  Track the bill here.

Day 7

I meant to post this yesterday. By January 7, 2013, our insurance has already paid out $24,241 for our boys' medications and our portion was $333.33.

I'm sick of people saying the insurance companies are evil.  When you need a blood product like one of my boys receives, that's what insurance is for. Those of you out there thinking you need FREE birth control, FREE abortions drugs and FREE sterilization- how about you pay your fair share like President Obama is always touting?

When we pay 2-3K plus for each surgery my kids have, why should you get an elective surgery for free? When a medication that protects my son's kidneys costs us a co-pay of $343, why should you get birth control for free? Your FREE costs everyone else money because you aren't paying your fair share. And these FREE items murder babies in the womb and do not treat disease.  Makes me want to puke.

I'm sure the kidney med is going to go up at least $50 to $400 something. Before Obamacare the co-pay was $150 and it just keeps rising with our premiums, OOPs and deductibles.

Flex Account Day 3 of 2013

Here we are on day 3 of the new year and we've already put $483.33 on Flex.  $91.50 of non-flex eligible/not tax deductible medical, too.  Had J's first appointment today and several more appointments this month. Our first shipment of catheters is going to set us back $650, if our insurance still allows it with the new medical device tax and all. We're really worried about how Obamacare will affect our family.  We paid $300 for prescriptions today and insurance paid $16,964.04.  I'm predicting out flex will run out before the end of January.  Last year, we were billed over 16K (our portion) and paid out just over 13K in Flex, cash and credit. Here's "just" our 2012 prescription breakdown:

Household Prescription Total 2012:  Plan Paid: $90,764.84       You Paid:   $5685.07

I'll be blogging about this as it happens in 2013.  We need to repeal Obamacare!
