The Spirit of American Freedom of Speech

Have you ever REALLY thought about the first amendment and its guarantee of free speech?  It doesn't mean that we have to agree with the spoken words in order that someone have the freedom to speak them.  I get so tired of the angry left coming out to play when someone on the right speaks out. They say hateful, violent things in response. Why can't they embrace the spirit of American freedom of speech?  I would like to tell you what the spirit of American freedom of speech means to me.

I am pro-life. This does not mean I hate those who have had abortions. I homeschool. That does not mean I hate people who choose "regular" school. I love the second amendment, but do not hate people who are afraid to/do not want to own guns. I believe in traditional marriage. This does not mean I hate homosexuals. Why do so many on the left assume differently? I can love all people -- even those with whom I fundamentally disagree. Many on the left call themselves tolerant, yet they hate those of us who don't see the world the way they do-- like Rosanne and others, they often call for us to get cancer or to die. THAT is leftist intolerance and bigotry. The hypocrisy makes me want to puke. (I use this in a facetious way and do not literally want to puke).

I have many close very liberal Democrat friends. Am I to assume that because they exercise their right to speak about an issue and fundamentally disagree with my position that they hate me?  If I did, I would not have many friends.  I mean, even we conservatives disagree on some fundamental issues from time to time.

I had a very nice conversation with a homosexual friend about gay marriage. The next day,  I was called a hypocrite by a heterosexual liberal friend when having a conversation on the same issue.  I'd say that my homosexual friend has a real grasp of what the spirit of American Freedom of Speech is. My heterosexual liberal friend, not so much!  No matter how much I fundamentally disagree with someone, I would never hate them or call for them to get cancer or wish them to die.  This goes over the top. Rosanne is a sick, twisted individual for saying she hoped anyone who ate at SH**-fil-A got "the cancer".  You may say she is being facetious, but let's get this straight-- facetious or not, wishing cancer upon anyone is just plain evil.  She said ANYONE... so the little kids, old people and people who are clueless about the controversy? She wishes they would get cancer, too. I think it is hypocritical of self-professed "tolerant" people to wish cancer upon people with whom they disagree. Tolerance isn't wishing death upon people with whom we disagree, either. Tolerance isn't forcing them to be quiet because we disagree with their position. Tolerance is letting them have their say and allowing them to live their lives according to their own values. It includes allowing them to run a business on Biblical principles, even if you hate the Bible.

If you truly respect others, you will love them in spite of fundamental disagreements. Embrace the spirit of America - learn to get along with those people who use their freedom of speech to say things with which you do not agree.  How blessed we are to live in a country where freedom of speech is protected! I am proud to be American!

Mayor Bloomberg is Protected By Guns

Mayor Bloomberg is protected by an armed bodyguard detail. After the Colorado theater shooting, he called for the police to go on strike until Americans give up their guns.  Did he even think about that statement?  People with guns would still be able to defend themselves during a police strike.  The citizens without guns would be the ones who wouldn't be able to defend themselves.

Last year, one of mayor Bloomberg's bodyguards shot someone. I wonder, did Mayor Bloomberg call for gun control or for bodyguards to strike until elitists like himself forced their bodyguards to surrender their weapons?  No, I don't think so.  You can read about the shooting here.

Mark Levin slams the mayor and asks him, "Why don't you go around without armed bodyguards?"

Want Gun Control? Move to China

In typical liberal fashion, the left is calling for more gun bans after the awful shooting in Colorado.  They are also trying to use the shooting in Colorado as a reason for the Small Arms Treaty the president and Hilary are about to sign next week.  They fail to see their own hypocrisy.

These same liberals who are wailing about gun control after the murder of 12 Americans, say absolutely nothing about the human rights violations in China at the point of an AK-47 assault rifle.  MILLIONS of Chinese murdered by AK-47 assault rifles.  The left is silent.  This Small Arms Treaty does nothing to China -- its military will still have the power to murder innocent civilians and force abortions-- even on women who are 7-9 months pregnant.

Want gun control?  Move to China. The Chinese population is unarmed and only its military have access to ANY weapons. The Chinese government's weapon of choice? The AK-47 assault rifle.  Where is the outcry from the left on human rights violations in China? All I hear is S-I-L-E-N-C-E.

Help spread freedom around the world! Let's spread our second amendment to the rest of the world, so that they can defend themselves from tyrannical governments and be free from human rights violations!  I bet many a Chinese citizen would love access to ANY gun... just so they could save their children, mother, wife or father from death by AK-47 at the hands of the Chinese military.

Further, let's look at the Colorado shooting.  Liberals fail to see that guns were banned by law in that theater.  The law abiding citizens followed the law. James Holmes did not follow the law.  Perhaps, if one law abiding citizen was able to carry into the theater on that awful, dreadful night, lives could have been spared. Not an assault rifle, but a handgun. One shot through the gas mask and James Homes may have been a neutralized threat.

Canada and England, both have strict guns laws, yet they have higher violent crime per capita than the United States.  Chicago, New York City, L.A., Washington D.C. -- all have very strict gun laws, but have the highest gun crime per capita.  Could it be that criminals, who don't give a rat's patootie about gun laws take advantage of law abiding citizens? I mean, if you know the population can't be armed..... it makes for an easy target.

James knew he'd have easy targets at the theater.  No one was allowed to carry a gun.  He wasn't sure how long it would take for police to arrive, so he was protected with gear.  Ultimately, he is a sick, sick man.  He was hoping to kill people in his apartment complex with bombs and boobie traps  -- not guns.   If he had not had access to the weapons, he would have used other means to kill people at the theater that night. He was intent on killing.

Stop the hypocrisy, liberal left!

Normalizing the Second Amendment

This is a big issue for me.  I get so sick and tired of people whispering about their love of the second amendment and being hush-hush about practicing their second amendment rights.  Because we've been quiet about our second amendment rights, the left has been able to make people feel bad or even guilty about their love of guns.  The left has been very successful with their  anti-second amendment rhetoric, just as they have been with all of their left wing ideology.  They ram it down our throats until enough people accept it as being normal (or give up fighting) and then we've lost the battle. We're losing the gun rights battle because normal, average citizens aren't willing to speak up.

We need to be open about gun rights, gun activities and the second amendment, just as the left was with homosexuality.  How did many Americans come to believe homosexuality was a normal part of everyday life? The gay agenda was pushed on talk shows, sitcoms and on the big screen. No one is afraid to talk about being gay, so why are so many still afraid to talk about guns!? Our God-given right to bear arms is protected by the second amendment and we need to speak up so that the likes of Obama and Hilary don't win at subverting the Constitution by signing away our gun rights via international treaties.

I'm very open about my love of guns and my love of the second amendment. I am not ashamed.  I was in the Army and enjoyed every weapon I ever fired! I go to the range on a regular basis and I have taught my children how to handle firearms properly. In fact, my middle son is hoping to compete in a few competitions.

I've had quite a few people tell me, "Oh, you shouldn't talk about guns on Facebook" or "You shouldn't talk about guns on your blog."   Puh-lease!  That's what got us into this mess to begin with. Those Washington bureaucrats need to know gun loving Americans are numerous and that we are NOT going to stay quiet as they take away our fundamental right to be free.  Yes, I said fundamental right to be free. Without the second amendment, there is no first. Without the second amendment, tyranny can take over. Without the second amendment, how can we protect all of our other fundamental rights?

Speak up citizen!  Let's let American know it is normal to love the second amendment!  Do not be ashamed to love what sets our nation apart from all others.

Why yes, I even scrapbook about our second amendment.  This two page layout is about the first time I rented an AK-47 for my son to shoot at the range. The best $10 I ever spent. I'm doing my part to normalize gun ownership, what about you? If we don't talk about it and bring the conversation to the table, the left will bring the anti-gun rhetoric to Congress and we'll wake up one day with no gun rights at all.

Catching Up......

I've been MIA in the blogosphere lately. I really have a lot to say, but must admit, I get so overwhelmed by the enormity of the issues and problems we face, I end up not being able to say one word.  Who would have ever thought that the President of the United States of America would subvert the Constitution is so many ways? Barack Obama keeps pushing it, just to see what will stick -- he has succeeded in fundamentally changing America, and if we don't fight to keep him from getting re-elected, we won't recognize America after his second term.

The only promise he has fulfilled is the one to "fundamentally change America" <and the socialists roar>

I've called my senators, but have to admit that I am quite disappointed that they were both unsure about the CRPD treaty and only one was voting against the Small Arms treaty. If you have not called your senators, call today!  We have to make sure they don't have 2/3 majority on either of these treaties. I feel like I am living in a surreal world.... this can't be America.  How can we have so many leaders who are willing to give up our sovereignty?

We have our first week in many, many months without doctors appointments. Praise the Lord for that.  Which brings me to Obamacare.  I still haven't gotten over the fact that the Supreme Court ruled in Constitutional as a tax. *sighs*  I cannot get across to some people how much Obamacare is going to affect our family.  Obamacare is going to have a huge negative impact on our family and many families like ours.   I attended the NC "Hands off My Health Care Rally" last month and wish I could attend AFP's DC rally on August 2-4 in DC. AFP is an excellent organization, please visit their website for national events, as well as events in your own state.

I'm trying to get back into the swing of things!

NC Democrats Decline to Endorse Obama

When I first heard the news, I thought it had to be a joke.  I'd seen mention of Democrats not attending the Democratic National Convention and thought, "Well, that isn't such a big deal."   Then, I read about North Carolina Democrats who were not attending the DNC in Charlotte and I didn't know if I should laugh or laugh so hard I cried.  USA Today reports that, "President Obama would very much like to carry North Carolina again, but he's having trouble with a couple of House Democrats in the Tar Heel State. U.S. Reps. Larry Kissell and Mike McIntyre -- both of whom represent rural districts with more Republican voters after redistricting -- have declined to endorse Obama for re-election." You can read the rest of the USA Today article here.

The Weekly Standard reports: "Matt Connelly, a regional spokesman for the Republican National Committee, remarks on Twitter: "Rep. Kissell's (D-NC) district ends 9 blocks away from Bank of America Stadium, but he isn't sure if he'll attend the DNC." Read the rest of the Weekly Standard article here.

As more and more Democrats pull away from President Obama, I am filled with hope and joy. I am praying that Americans vote to restore the Constitution in November.  I hope Americans vote to repeal Obamacare in November.  My family will be negatively impacted by the portions of Obamacare that go into effect in 2013.  Having two chronically ill children, Obamacare is our worst nightmare.

Please get involved!  Find your local GOP Headquarters and volunteer!  Together we can defeat Barack Obama in November and get our country back on track.
