First Amendment Defense Act TweetFest

Tomorrow, The House Oversight and Government Reform (OGR) Committee will have public hearings on the First Amendment Defense Act.

This hearing is the first step to getting to our goal: a full House vote on FADA.

Chairman Jason Chaffetz and the other Republican committee members need to hear from you on the need to pass FADA out of committee. Heritage Action is hosting a Tweetfest tomorrow from 12-2pm using the hashtag #VoteonFADA

I'll be joining in on the Tweetfest and hope you will, too!

#AllLivesMatter

#AllLivesMatter Don't play into the hands of the media or ANY group. When we pro-lifers stand for life, we stand for ALL lives. We are out there for unborn babies of all races. We do not differentiate. We are out there for ALL mothers and their babies regardless of race, religion, political affiliation, social status, marital status or economic status. In my opinion, using a hashtag differentiating a race of people that "matter" is race baiting. Period. It is NOT unifying. It is divisive. Let's stop the hate and divisiveness by realizing we are all part of the HUMAN RACE.
All lives matter no matter sex, race, religion or how a person identifies. Every person on the planet is created in the image and likeness of God.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO AGREE WITH PEOPLE FOR THEIR LIVES TO MATTER. Republican lives matter, Democrat lives matter, Libertarian lives matter, Unaffiliated lives matter, progressive lives matter, conservative lives matter....... get where I am going with this? All lives matter. Lawyer lives matter, stay at home mom lives matter, pilot lives matter, preacher lives matter, police lives matter, trash collector lives matter, teacher lives matter..... how many hashtags can we come up with to divide people into groups of lives that matter? An infinite number. Piano player lives matter, too, you know!
Isn't it just easier to point out ALL lives matter? Anytime any human being is killed, it is a tragedy. It is unconscionable that BLM leaders are calling for the death of white police officers and white people around our nation. It is unconscionable for ANYONE to incite others to kill another HUMAN BEING. Period. I don't care what you are or how you identify--- calling upon others to kill another human being is WRONG. When all is said and done, does it really matter what sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, occupation or group the dead person belonged to? NO! Because all life matters. Even if the person is a criminal-- their life matters. <<--this is not to say you cannot defend your own life. The right to self-defense is a natural right.
The sooner we realize unity will NEVER come through division, the faster our nation can heal.
Let's work to protect ALL life from conception to natural death.

Tennessee: Prohibit Firearms and You are Responsible for Safety of those You Unarm

As of today in Tennessee, if a handgun permit holder is injured, suffers bodily injury or death, incurs loss or expense, property damage or any other compensable loss on a property posted as a gun-free zone, they can sue the person or entity who stripped them of their right to self defense.

This is awesome. When I am forced to travel stripped of my right to carry, I always remind my family to sue on my behalf should I be harmed. You know, like when I have to travel to California or Illinois.  I don't patronize businesses that don't allow me to carry my firearm unless absolutely necessary (pharmacy, hospital, etc).  I hope other states follow Tennessee's lead. Make owners take responsibility for "gun-free" zones.

Here is the Bill Summary from the TN General Assembly page:

BILL SUMMARY

Present law authorizes persons in control of property to post a notice that prohibits firearms on the premises. This bill imposes a duty of care on any person who posts their property to prohibit firearms whereby such person will be responsible for the safety of any handgun carry permit holder while the permit holder is on the posted premises and traversing any area to and from the premises and the location where the permit holder's firearm is stored. The duty of care created by this bill will extend to the conduct of other invitees, trespassers, employees of the person or entity, vicious animals, wild animals, and defensible man-made and natural hazards.

This bill creates a cause of action whereby any permit holder who is harmed while on posted premises or traversing any area to and from the premises and the location where the permit holder's firearm is stored may bring suit against the person who posted the property. The full text of this bill specifies the burden of proof that a plaintiff must meet in order to prevail in a suit brought under this bill. In addition to damages, a permit holder who brings a suit under this bill will be entitled to attorney fees and costs. The statute of limitations for actions brought under this bill will be two years.

This bill requires that any person who posts their property to prohibit firearms on the premises must use a sign that includes language citing this bill and the duty of care that such person owes to permit holders.

U.S. Government Classifies Catfish as "Meat"

The U.S. government has reclassified catfish as meat. Thad Cochran (the R Senator from MS <-who is really a D->) got this added to the '08 farm bill and the '14 farm bill made it official. Republicans control both houses now...will they reverse it?

Of course not. Because they lack the intestinal fortitude and moral courage to do anything that creates a limited government. It's all about the next election and building up their war chests so they can defeat real conservatives in the next election.

Read the following article on Townhall for information on this topic. Catfish, the Other Cronyism Meat?

Does this mean I can no longer eat catfish during Lent? <snort> I don't care if the government tells me a fish is meat or if the catfish self-identifies as a cow, a catfish is fish. Period.

Can cattle farmers get out of USDA inspections if their cows all self-identify as guppies?
