Are you sitting down? As of
today, our insurance company has paid $166,567.98 for medications. We
aren't even halfway through the year. That's $33,313.60 per month for
medications alone. Go ahead and tell me how evil insurance companies
are. I dare you. They used to pay more before OBAMACARE. Obamacare is
evil. We're on track for insurance to pay $400,000 just for meds this
year.
We've paid $4,053.40 for all of our medications this year. Not too shabby, considering how much insurance has paid out.
Today is the 148th day of the year and we've been billed a total of $9,959.53 in out of pocket medical. We still owe $1,127.27 from 2012 medical bills and have already paid $1,353.21 on 2012 medical bills. We've paid $8,001.46 on 2013 medical bills and still owe $1,958.07 for 2013 medical bills. I'm SURE that by day's end we'll have gotten another $40.47 in medical bills to bring us up to $10,000!
Easy breakdown of what we've paid and what we owe:
We owe $3,085.34 for 2012/2013 medical bills. We paid out over 16K in medical last year, folks. This year, we've already paid in flex, cash and credit: $9,354.67 for 2012/2013 medical. I include 2012 because the medical bills we pay in 2013 go toward our medical deductions. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE COST OF OUR INSURANCE PREMIUMS.
Here is a breakdown of our 2013 medical bills (our portion/what we've been billed):
Prescriptions: $4,053.40
Urinary Catheters: $429.53
Dental: $1,235.00
Oral Surgery: $1,368.00
Doctor visits: $1,771.28
MRI: $133.17
Xray/US: $375.14
PT/OT: $25.57
Labs: $103.36
Misc: $34.12
Mito OTC: $430.96
All of this used to cost us less before Obamacare. Obama and Obamacare suck.

IRS Protest-Winston-Salem, NC
On May 21, 2013, the Winston-Salem TEA Party Patriots protested at the local IRS building. We had a great turnout for less than 24 hours notice. 60 patriots showed up.No one was arrested (unlike the NAACP event in Raleigh!). Here are pictures from the event:
I made this banner for the protest. Will we be Audited Now? |
An awesome young patriot joins us with his VW van. LOVE it! |
Harvey has had 44 radiation treatments and changed an appointment so he could be at the protest. Harvey is a true patriot! |
Bill and a new Marine friend we met! OOH Rah! |
Bill Flynn from 980 the Eagle talking to folks |
Another young patriot |

Proud of my Compassionate Conservative Teen
Blessed beyond measure. My son helped these ladies out when he was in
Greensboro for a Room at the Inn Board Meeting one day and never said
a word to anyone.........then this letter showed up and people told us!:
"Several weeks ago, my friend took me shopping since
I don't drive. We were coming home on Cornwallis Drive when we ran out
of gas.A car stopped behind us, and a young man helped push the car onto
a side street. He then went to a gas station for gas. He returned and
would not accept any money for the gas.Thank you, Matt Curran. You are a
special angel.- Margie Lowe, Greensboro"
This sweet lady took the time to write a letter! It was wonderful to get a glimpse of my son's "life on the streets". I'm a proud mom. I thank God for this special child of His! What a blessing it is to have been given this gift - to watch him grow in Him. Blessed. I can't get over this.I did absolutely nothing to deserve this gift from God-- this precious child of God. What a blessing to have been able to take part in raising him. God is so good!
Matthew never mentioned it to anyone... and he wouldn't take their money. Just such a blessing that this lady wrote this letter so that we could see Matthew living his faith. All night long, I offered prayers of thanksgiving for God's many blessings. This is all His work. WOW... just wow...... God is so good. Matthew still would not have told us....... What an amazing God we have. Thank you Jesus. I am in awe of all the things God has done in our lives. I can't wait to see what God has in store for Matthew !!! He leaves for college in the fall..... It is going to be such a blessing to watch.
I tell people, if they lived one day in my house, they would know that this was ALL God's doing! I mean, I know we have a role to play, but I give credit to God. He truly, truly makes up for where we are lacking. We have asked Him and prayed that He would make up for our shortcomings as parents... though, I speak for myself. Hubby may not agree that we BOTH have shortcomings! ha ha ha. In all seriousness, God has blessed us abundantly and done great things in each and every one of our lives.
He is a great role model! Blessed, blessed, blessed. God is so good. What an amazing blessing that Margie wrote this letter. Chris asked Matthew how they knew his name and he said, "Well they asked me my name and I told them." Funny enough, though, he doesn't want thanks! He was embarrassed by the thank you letter and all... and said to me, "You're going to show this to your friends, aren't you?" It's public information now, and I'm going to blog about it! . You know, if I ran out of gas, he'd take my cash! Bwahahahahahahahaha ~laughter~
